Snowy Hydro is a dynamic, integrated energy business that has been providing on-demand, reliable energy to Australia for generations. Snowy Hydro owns and operates a powerful combination of generation assets, including the mighty Snowy Mountains Scheme, gas and diesel plants, and contracted wind and solar energy. We also provide electricity and gas to about 1 million retail customers through our retail brands Red Energy and Lumo Energy.
An exciting opportunity has become available for a qualified and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer - Team Leader to join our high performing engineering team. This role can offer flexible working arrangements based on a mutual agreement of the proposed arrangement. The role is responsible for contributing to the long-term performance and capability of Snowy Hydro's electrical assets by providing effective leadership in setting engineering standards, assessing and communicating asset health and risk, provision of technical advice and recommendations. This also includes supporting, directing and mentoring other engineers across the business.
Reporting to the Manager Asset Integrity, your key responsibilities will include:

Providing effective leadership, technical advice and direction to ensure the portfolio of electrical assets are safe, reliable and maintained effectively over their life cycle.

Leading and continually improving the asset heath and risk assessment processes for electrical assets by maximising the use of quality data and improved technology, IT systems and leading cultural change

Working with key consultants and service providers to establish and maintain external partner relationships including ensuring the appropriate service level agreements are in place.

Contributing to the development of asset management strategies for Snowy Hydro's major electrical assets which support short, medium and long term business objectives

Leading and developing employees towards success, whilst maintaining a business focus, demonstrating responsibility and care in the assets and performing well as a team

Demonstrating the highest level of health and safety standards in accordance with Snowy Hydro's OHS policies and exhibiting behaviours consistent with the Snowy Hydro Values
A suitable applicant for the role will possess the following attributes and experience:

Tertiary qualification in Engineering with 3-5 years of engineering leadership experience within the power generation industry is favourable

Knowledge of engineering design, fault finding, problem solving techniques, asset management and maintenance principles for electrical power system equipment

High level interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills with a demonstrated ability to to deliver results through influence and work effectively

Self motivated with exceptional customer focus, and a demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders

Demonstrated leadership qualities that create an environment that supports innovation within the team, and promotes team culture

Excellent organisational skills, ability to multi-task and effectively manage competing priorities
