We are on the lookout for an experienced Surface Site Surveillance Officer, who has strong experience inearth works, concrete, or ground support works. If this is you, then come and join the team onsite on a 14/7 roster arrangement, on either a DIDO (drive-in, drive out) basis, or a FIFO (fly-in,fly-out) basis. This key role will ensure site civil works being undertaken by contractors are in line with agreed deliverables, performance standards and Snowy's Employer's Requirements.
Located in the Kosciuszko National Park, the Snowy 2.0 project is home to two major TBM tunnelling portals and other significant works, including road construction and maintenance, high voltage power reticulation and the management of large quantities of spoil.
You will be responsible for:
Maintaining the highest standard of health and safety performance; following Project Safety plans and Snowy Hydro Health and Safety Policies
Coordinating with the Snowy 2.0 team to ensure the Contractor is complying to ensure construction is undertaken safely, to specification and in compliance with the Project Approvals
Conduct daily physical site inspections, complete reports and capture photographic records of site activities
Maintain regular communication with direct manager (Surface Works Lead) regarding issues observed and requiring mitigation in the field
Perform on-site Quality Surveillance of construction work and attend site inspections
Ensure that all necessary quality documentation is being produced and recorded by the Contractor
The primary function of this role is not just to attend site and record progress, it is to actively and tirelessly work with all site parties to achieve the highest standard of permanent and temporary works, and minimise future legacy issues associated with quality, safety, environment and functionality of the built product.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Demonstrated success and 8-15 years' experience in similar roles in the infrastructure construction or related industries
Civil construction trade/supervision/surveillance background, combined with relevant training & experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proven ability to clearly convey information and ideas, influence, collaborate and negotiate with internal and contractor personnel
Proactive and timely decision-making, problem identification and resolution
The ability to work responsibly and effectively both at site and remote from site
