Snowy Hydro is a dynamic, integrated energy business that has been providing on-demand, reliable energy to Australia for generations. Snowy Hydro owns and operates a powerful combination of generation assets, including the mighty Snowy Mountains Scheme, gas and diesel plants, and contracted wind and solar energy. We also provide electricity and gas to about 1 million retail customers through our retail brands Red Energy and Lumo Energy. Snowy 2.0 is Australia's largest committed renewable energy project. This nation-building project will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come.
An exciting opportunity exists for a suitably qualified and experienced Senior Project Manager to join the Snowy 2.0 project's leadership team. In this role you will provide oversight of all contractor activities at Tantangara site to ensure that the built product meets contractual requirements and construction works are delivered in accordance with the Employer's Requirements (ER). You will lead a team at Tantangara and provide assistance and coverage in leading the wider onsite team including project engineers and site surveillance officers. This role is based onsite at Tantangara on a DIDO roster of 5 days on, 2 days off.
Your key responsibilities will include:

Effectively lead and manage oversight of contractor activities at the Tantangara site on behalf of Snowy Hydro to ensure delivery of contractual requirements and project objectives.

Utlise flexible interpersonal style and appropriate leadership behaviours to build positive and cohesive internal and external work relationships.

Supported by the Quality Lead - Construction, effectively manage and conduct on-site Quality Management activities to ensure that all necessary documentation is being produced and recorded.

Support effective monitoring and oversight of underground works including TBM, tunnelling & drill and blast.

Monitor and maintain agreement with the Contractor of actual progress in every area of construction and feeding agreement to the Owner's Project Controls Team.

Regularly reporting, daily, weekly or monthly as required, of the actual status of work, progress, and include details and mitigations of issues around, progress, quality, and safety.
We're looking for someone with:

Recognised tertiary degree qualifications in Engineering or Construction / Project Management.

Extensive 10+ years experience in managing large scale, complex, high risk infrastructure construction projects.

Demonstrated project management, construction and engineering skills with the ability to execute engineering tasks from inception to completion.

The ability to negotiate with, manage and supervise external contractors and consultants.

The ability to work collaboratively with autonomy and responsibility; effectively both at site and remotely from site.

Demonstrated ability to effectively lead, manage, coach and influence direct and indirect team members.

Able to quickly and effectively adapt to changing circumstances and demands in a measured and constructive way.

Sound knowledge of Quality, OH&S, EEO and Environmental policies, procedures and standards.

Proven ability to manage and control project costs.
