Job Description
Snowy Hydro is a dynamic, integrated energy business that has been providing on-demand, reliable energy to Australia for generations. Snowy Hydro owns and operates a powerful combination of generation assets, including the mighty Snowy Mountains Scheme, gas and diesel plants, and contracted wind and solar energy. We also provide electricity and gas to about 1 million retail customers through our retail brands Red Energy and Lumo Energy.
Snowy 2.0 is Australia's largest committed renewable energy project. This nation-building project will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come.
An exciting opportunity exists for a suitably qualified and experienced Project Controls Lead to join the Commercial Leadership Team within the project. Reporting to the Head of Contracts and Commercial, this role will be responsible for gathering, managing and analysing data and processes to predict, understand and constructively influence the time and cost outcome for the Snowy 2.0 Project as well as providing commercial management, assurance and oversight of the project. The ideal candidate will have high level problem solving, reporting and analytical skills and be able to adapt to changing circumstances and a fast paced environment in a measured and constructive way.
Key responsibilities will include:

Developing, implementing and maintaining Project Controls processes and procedures within the project

Providing effective leadership, training and support to the Project Controls team and developing the team towards achieving goals and improving work practice

Managing the delivery of the Project Controls team outputs in accordance with best practice standards, within agreed time-scales and at the required standards

Participating and advising in Risk workshops any potential cost implications that should be considered by management

Overseeing the review of the Contractor's Monthly Progress Report

Developing,implementing and managing a robust Project Controls System in PRISM G2

Performing regular reforecasting to ensure accuracy of the Time Phased Budget

Providing accurate and timely cost and performance reports to management to enable monitoring and management of projects budgets

Assisting in providing data and/or information to assist with claim management and dispute resolution
In addition to the above, our ideal applicant will have:

Degree qualifications and a minimum 8 years of highly relevant experience

Project Controls and/or Cost Management experience on large scale infrastructure/mining/major construction projects at a senior level

A high level of commercial acumen and experience with project control processes and procedure

Proven ability to effectively lead, manage and influence direct and indirect team members

Indepth understanding and experience using Prism G2 or similar software packages including Cost, Change, Field, Contracts and Invoice modules

Excellent business engagement skills with the ability to effectively communicate commercial, project and risk matters to a wide range of personnel
