Snowy Hydro is a dynamic, integrated energy business that has been providing on-demand, reliable energy to Australia for generations. Snowy Hydro owns and operates a powerful combination of generation assets, including the mighty Snowy Mountains Scheme, gas and diesel plants, and contracted wind and solar energy. We also provide electricity and gas to about 1 million retail customers through our retail brands Red Energy and Lumo Energy.
A fantastic opportunity has become available for a suitably qualified individual to join our high performing engineering team as an Asset Engineer - Transformer. This pivotal role can offer flexible working arrangements based on a mutual agreement of the proposed arrangement. The role will contribute to the long-term performance and capability of Snowy Hydro's assets through the provision of engineering advice and support to the business across the asset portfolio. This role is responsible for the development and management of technical engineering standards & strategies to ensure asset regulatory compliance, asset risk and health is effectively managed to meet business needs.
Reporting to the Manager Asset Integrity, your key responsibilities will include:

Developing and maintaining technical standards for nominated assets, mainly transformers

Maintaining current knowledge of industry practices and improvement trends to improve Asset health and risk processes

Providing technical and engineering advice to the business on plant issues

Provision of Engineering and Asset Management Standards setting out the business requirements and regulatory obligations for the safe and effective management of nominated assets

Ensure asset maintenance strategies are in place, current and effective at controlling asset risk and complying with regulatory obligations in conjunction with key stakeholders

Ensure asset management strategies and plans meet the required legal and regulatory obligations

Identify and facilitate the delivery of asset reliability improvement opportunities across the asset fleet

Demonstrating the highest level of health and safety standards in accordance with Snowy Hydro's OHS policies and exhibiting behaviours consistent with the Snowy Hydro Values
A suitable applicant for the role will possess the following attributes and experience:
-
Tertiary qualification in Engineering with 3-5 years of experience within the power generation industry is favourable

Demonstrated ability to communicate and sustain strong relationships with contractors and internal stakeholders
-
Experience leading technical personnel to deliver goals effectively in a fast-paced team environment

Demonstrated influencing & negotiation skills at all levels of the business

Advanced analysis, problem-solving and troubleshooting, and consultative skills
-
Experience in Asset Management principles
