An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated and experienced operator within the Murray region (located in Khancoban NSW) with Snowy Hydro Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for completing assigned maintenance tasks on plant and equipment including routine maintenance, defect maintenance, isolating, restoring, operating and commissioning plant and equipment, as well as developing and reviewing isolation/restoration programs to address identified risks and hazards.
This opportunity is technically challenging in an operational environment, where a values driven and highly skilled individual can make a significant impact on ensuring plant is available to 'keep the lights on'. Maintenance opportunities are led with a safety focus, co-ordinated to facilitate the workflow and get the most from team members.
You will be responsible for the development and implementation of switching programs for isolation, restoration and HV operation of plant to provide safe access for maintenance and project work; respond to and resolve plant alarms, indications and defects to ensure the availability and reliability of plant is maintained. As Maintenance Technician - Plant Access, you will be expected to lead and deliver training to maintenance staff, to ensure they are competent in gaining access to and operating plant and equipment safely. In addition, you will be encouraged to identify and lead improvement opportunities associated with maintenance activities.
Reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader in Murray Region.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
An Electrical or Mechanical trade background (essential), Diploma qualifications desirable
Technical knowledge of a variety of apparatus and plant associated with heavy industry, together with strong analytical and research skills, preferably demonstrated skills in Instrumentation, Control Systems and HV Switching experience
Knowledge of maintenance program requirements, analysis techniques and maintenance management practices
To obtain authorisation to isolate, restore and operate in accordance with Snowy Hydro Access Rules, Policies and Procedures
Complete and lead maintenance tasks as required
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of personnel including employees, management and contractors
Proficient computer skills including experience with maintenance management systems, editing/updating documentation and drawings, Ellipse experience desirable
Knowledge of WHS, EEO and Environmental Policies and standards
To participate in a rotating 7 day on-call roster
